Audit, surveys and consultancy
Audit (in this instance access audit) is the pre-requisite for any plan of action to facilitate change and development of services with a view to making them welcoming and accessible to all.
A comprehensive “warts and all” audit establishes the base-line; each recommendation is given a priority (DDA: 1995 and 2005, AD Part M Building Regulations, BS8300:2001, CPA and BVPIs are the usual standards used for bench-marking).
These individual recommendations, when categorised, can easily be transformed into a coherent 3 or 5-year plan. Outcomes are measurable and progress can be monitored, especially when the audit is used in conjunction with user-consultation and feed-back. The most cost effective solutions are always offered as one of a raft of options available for service managers to choose from.
Many organisations have already started this process and audits may date back some time in some instance a few years. It is always advisable to conduct a review of progress made so far in order to re-prioritise recommendations that will reflect current best practice and any changes that there may have been to legislation and standards.
Surveys are always tailored to the exact needs of our clients. They can range from cross-site Signage and Way-finding surveys, to Reception area surveys, to reviews of promotional material and printed matter ensuring that it meets the widest customer base possible which can be used by every-one.
We offer simple desk-top plans appraisals to full on-site audit and access consultancy.
We provide Design and Access statements for Planning and Building Control . (link to Design and Access Statements)
"Walk and talk" reviews are very popular and can look at specific access problems or can help you make the most of your next refurbishment or cyclical maintenance programme.
Cost effective on-line, telephone and e-mail support will be a key feature of our service which will ensure that our clients can obtain clear accurate and effective advice at the point of need.
FM accounts are available to our major clients where a range of services may be required at different times during the year. Services may range from desk-top plans appraisals, site-visits to discuss particular access issues, equipment and other product advice, DDA advice and other assessments. Unused time can be rolled over to the following year and a review takes place every 6 months.

Consultation
Obtaining the views and gaining an understanding of the "real experience" of your customers or those who work for you is all important in developing and improving access provision and is crucial in developing services.
We can help you put consultation programmes in place to ensure that meaningful feed-back is obtained that can be translated into meaningful action.
Review
The Access Collaboration can help you review your organisation’s key policies and practices. A review can evaluate the impact that they may have on people who have access requirements to employment, leisure, health and education services.
